A handwritten note from the famous painter (1829-1896, co-founder of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood) to one M.(?) Martin, Clifton College, Bristol, who had requested a photograph of the painting "The Boyhood of Raleigh": "No photograph has yet been taken," so - too bad, so sad.
