Very rare Dutch translation of Bonaventura?s Soliloquium, previously owned by Maria Leermans, abbess of the old Belgium abbey Kortenberg from 1671-1682.Full contemporary vellum binding without the ties. Octavo edition, in -8. First pages with ?Sent-brief? and ?Voor-reden van S. Bonaventura? a bit browned. First text page ?Het 1. Capittel? lacks the last sentence because of a professional restauration of the textpage (see photo). Including the Gheestelijcken A. B. vanden H. Bonaventura.
With engraved titlepage and engraving of the portrait of Bonaventure. Bonaventure of Bagnoregio (1221-1274) became one of the most prominent men in Latin Christianity. Het made philosophical claims that influenced later thinkers. His Soliloquium was a popular book for the spiritual traiing of the friars.
