Light brown sheep, gold tooled. On the covers a single fillet border. In the centre a lozenge shaped curly tool. Spine with 4 raised bands. Fleurons in the compartments. Blue white silk end bands. Remain of 1 blue silk lace. Edges coloured blue.
First edition. Jean-Jacques Chifflet (1588-1660) was a French physician, antiquarian and archaeologist. In Besançon he was physician to Caroline of Austria, daughter of Rudolf II. He visited Paris, Montpellier, travelled to Italy and Germany. On his return, he was appointed personal physician to the King of Spain. In the present work he attacks the Capetian family. -Literature: Funck, M.
