1928, New York, Crosby Gaige, ppxix, 61, original brown cloth gilt, with a rare glassene dustwrapper, in a custom made clamshell box in green cloth, green morocco spine lettered in silver. Limited edition no.72 of 800 copies signed in ink by James Joyce.
The first appearance of an early published chapter of work in progress, which became Finnegans Wake. Slocum and Cahoon, A32. Colum says in his preface, "Anna Livia Plurabelle is concerned with the flowing of a river...to my mind James Joyce's inventions and discoveries as an innovator in literary form is more beautifully shown in it than in any other part of his work"
