Illuminated manuscript. Souvenir de la première communion d?Antoine Leclercq de Vaulx faite en l?église St-Joseph, à Ostende le jour de Noël 1911
14 × 10 cm, full leather, 49 folios on Elefantenhaut paper; excellent condition. A beautifully executed early-20th-century illuminated manuscript commemorating the first communion of Antoine Leclercq de Vaulx. Richly decorated in neo-gothic style with elaborate marginalia and decorated initials. Produced on a high-quality textured paper with a vellum-like appearance (Elefantenhaut?). The first folio bears the coat of arms of the de Vaulx family, a now extinct noble family mainly established in the provinces of Namur and Luxembourg. We join three printed communion cards of which two in relation to Antoine de Vaulx.
